Do you have any idea why Windows 11 voice access isn't adding any punctuation when using Stimuwrite? Doesn't seem to matter whether I have it set to automatic or when I say "period." The ability to dictate text in the software and have it work correctly would be awesome for writers and disabled peeps.

Edit: Upon further testing, commas, question marks, em dashes, semi colons and colons all work correctly. It seems to just be periods that won't insert unless typed.

Hi caelanbug! Thanks for making me aware of this issue, I will look into it

Thanks so much! I appreciate all your hard work on this software and recommended it to my writer friends with ADHD all the time 😊

Thank you for making this! I got this on a recommendation from a friend in college and it has genuinely helped me write with less of a barrier with my executive dysfunction. If there's even a small thing, it would be that I like working with the left part of my screen filled with sources or rubric or something and if I put stimuwrite on the right side, it leaves about 50% of dead space which is only graphics. Can the border be expanded with black where the box for Soundscape and the export section is vertically to fill the whole area?

Unfortunately, there's no way to scale the UI vertically at this time, but it's something I could consider for the future if enough people are interested.

Hi! I love your app and was wondering--I saw that you're working on a focus mode where we can disable the delete and backspace keys, but would you be willing to add blur to the inactive text as well? If not, I understand, but I have ADHD and perfectionism so I just want to free-write without being able to criticize myself lol

Have you tried using the Flow Circular font? It's not exactly what you are looking for, but if you can touch type, it will make your words unreadable while you write.

I like the blur idea, I will take it into consideration! I need to investigate how difficult it would be to implement.

I have not--thank you for the tip!

First off, this program is absolutely amazing and I absolutely love it! I've only had it for a day, but I already feel like it is helping me focus better on what I'm writing!

One issue I'm noting is that the Clear Crystal theme uses white text, but it makes it difficult to read when the background also has light colors. I know you've mentioned that you don't intend to add any font formatting, but I wanted to know if that included font colors? Even if it is just switching between black and white, I think it would make it a lot easier to read the text in those situations. (I have a couple of examples below). As an alternative, you could also have a "Dark" Clear Crystal theme that uses black text.

I also wanted to make a suggestion for a theme. I really enjoy the raindrop noise, so I thought a background of raindrops hitting a window with a foresty background would be really neat.

Thank you again for making this!

Hi! Thanks so much, I'm glad the program is helping so much. The Outline theme that comes with the theme pack is the dark version of Clear Crystal. I have been considering adding a text color option though, so I will take that into account. I love your theme idea! I am working on some more themes now, and I'll definitely consider it.

I didn't even see the outline theme, I was so focused on Clear Crystal, haha. That's totally on me. But I do think it would be handy for some of the others that don't have that option so people can adjust it for personal eye comfort.

Also I have to say I'm so impressed at how quickly you respond to comments, and how you take suggestions into consideration. It's something you don't see very often, and it's incredibly refreshing!

Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much! I am a solo developer so sometimes the chaos of life takes me away from this project, but when I'm able to I do my best to push it forward and support users :)

Hello.
Was wondering why the app doesn't open if you are not connected to the internet?

Had taken my laptop with me on a trip, thinking I could do some writing exercises. But when I opened the program (without internet) it failed to load, repeatedly. Soon as it (my laptop) connected at home, the program started without a problem.

So, why does it require an internet connection to use?

Hi Sileka, sorry for the issue! This is due to a bug in an older version of StimuWrite. On open, the app checks the itchio server once to see if there is a new version and is supposed to notify the user if there is an update. There was bug in some older versions of the app that crashes it once I changed my username on itchio. StimuWrite does not send or receive any data other than this one time check.

If you update the app to the latest version you will be able to use it offline. I recommend downloading and running StimuWrite through the itchio app, as it will keep it automatically up to date with the latest fixes and features.  Happy writing!

Ah, okay.

Wasn't aware the one I had was out of date. Only picked it up a month ago. Will make sure I keep a closer eye on updates in the future. Thank you!

Hmm that's strange, you should have the most up to date one. Could you please check the "About" button to see which version you have. I'm wondering now if the bug has returned somehow. I will do some testing and add it to the upcoming version which is coming out soon. Are you on Windows?
